Tennessee Titans’ Kenny Britt Arrested for Drunk Driving in Kentucky

The NFL has netted yet another DUI arrest in its off season. The latest pro football player to get into trouble is Kenny Britt who was arrested outside a military base in Kentucky.

The incident happened early last Friday, when Britt attempted to gain entry into the Fort Campbell military base. His driving made military police suspect that he was intoxicated. He was stopped and detained but refused to take a breathalyzer.

Britt was the arrested for DUI with implied consent and taken into custody about 3:30 a.m. A short time later, Britt was taken to base gate and released.

The NFL released a statement saying they were aware of Britt’s arrest and was in the process of gathering more facts about the incident. This is typical of the statements released in the past two months as numerous players have been arrested for drunk driving.

For Britt, this arrest is his ninth, but first DUI, since he began playing with the Titans in 2009.

Along with the help of a sharp DUI attorney, Britt may be able reduce the actual charges or the penalties he faces.

First time DUI offenders often think they can handle this charge on their own without understanding the long term impact that a conviction can have. It’s crucial for anyone who is arrested on these charges to retain a DUI lawyer to work on their defense and stop a conviction.

Once a person has been arrested for drunk driving their next step should be consulting with a DUI attorney so they can discuss how to negate the impact of this arrest.
