Actress and Singer Doris Day Guests on Animal Radio®

Actress, Singer and Animal Rights Activist, Doris Day, will guest host America’s most-listened-to pet talk, Animal Radio®, on Saturday July 28th, noon eastern on XM Satellite Radio channel 166 and 102 AM/FM affiliates.

Actress, Singer and Animal Rights Activist, Doris Day, will guest host America’s most-listened-to pet talk, Animal Radio®, on Saturday July 28th, noon eastern on XM Satellite Radio channel 166 and 102 AM/FM affiliates.

Doris Day has made over 39 films, and her movies are still among the most-popular on television and home video.   Doris is one of the world’s most-loved and most-honored women, and in 2004, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President George W. Bush.  

Doris started the Doris Day Animal Foundation (DDAF) and created  the annual “Spay Day USA,” which has altered over one million animals since it’s inception in 1995.  Unaltered pets are according to Doris Day, “The biggest problem in the country, in the world. “ She states that, “In many countries, they don’t even know about spaying, and the animals run loose and they keep having babies, doggies and kittens, and they’re all starving.” She feels that by spaying or neutering that animals “Are not losing their manhood or womanhood!” She also wants everyone to know who donates money to her organization that, “It’s being used.  I’m not buying fancy clothes and it’s not going to sit in the bank.”

Day is part of the Animal Radio's Season of Stars, which has included Emmylou Harris, Bret Michaels, Josh Duhamel, Glenn Close, NBC's The Office Jenna Fischer, Ed Asner, Gary Burghoff, Saturday Night Live's Victoria Jackson, Kristin Chenoweth, Carrie Ann Inaba, Elayne Boosler, Eddie Money, Ed Begley, Jr., Betty White and Davey Jones.
