Kristen Stewart Publically Apologizes To Robert Pattinson For Fling With Director

Less than a day after news surfaced of her brief fling with married director Rupert Sanders, Kristen Stewart has confessed and issued a public apology to her longtime boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart, 22, said in a statement.

Pattinson, 26, has not commented. He and Stewart began dating after meeting on the set of Twilight in 2008.

Us Weekly magazine published pictures in their latest issue that shows Stewart and Sanders “kissing like teens” during a short rendezvous in Los Angeles on July 17.

“Kristen was sitting with her back against the driver’s-side window and this guy was kissing her entire body,” an unidentified photographer told the tabloid.

An insider tells People magazine the incident was “just a fleeting moment that shouldn't have happened.” "She wasn't having an affair with Rupert,” the source says. “She never meant to hurt anyone. She's a good person who just made a bad choice.”

Sanders, who directed Stewart’s latest film Snow White and the Huntsman, also apologized to his wife Liberty Ross and their two children in a statement released Wednesday. "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," Sanders, 41, tells People magazine. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

Ross has not commented. She played Stewart’s mother in Snow White in the Huntsman.
