Report Shows Kerry Kennedy Had Ambien in System After Accident

Kerry Kennedy and her family claimed that the cause of the July 11th accident on Westchester Highway was due in part to a stroke. But police thought otherwise and charged her with intoxicated driving.

Now a report by a toxicologist reveled that Kennedy had the sleep drug Ambien in her system at the time of her arrest, which contradicts the report from her personal physician.

On that Friday, Kennedy was driving erratically along the highway and eventually crashed into a tractor-trailer, but continued to drive. One of her tires flew into oncoming traffic after her collision and Kennedy was unaware of what just occurred.

Witnesses told police they saw Kennedy nodding off at the wheel. When police  eventually caught up with her, she was passed out behind the wheel, and her car sustained significant damage. Police arrested her for suspicion of drunk driving.

Kennedy allegedly told officers that she may have taken Ambien, a popular sleeping pill, instead of her he thyroid medication. Though she later denied having any drugs in her system at all and attributed the accident to a seizure.

This accident could have result in serious injuries, like so many traffic accidents do. These injuries come at a great cost to the victims through lost wages and costly medical bills. These victims often have no other choice than to hire an accident attorney to get them the money they need to pay their bills.

In order to be effective an accident lawyer must be able to prove negligence on a driver’s part. A driver with drugs in their system is clearly negligent and an accident attorney will make certain they pay for the harm they caused another.
