Lena Headey of ‘Game of Thrones’ Files for Divorce from Musician Husband

Actress Lena Headey of the wildly popular HBO series, “Game of Thrones’ filed for divorce from her husband of five years, according to People magazine.

In court documents, filed in a Los Angeles court on July 20th, Headey stated ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for dissolution. ‘Irreconcilable differences’ is a very common reason listed in no-fault divorce states, such as California; it basically states that no party is responsible for the breakdown of the marriage.

Headey, known to fans as Cersei Lannaster, married musician Peter Loughran in 2007. She told the Daily Mail, “We met at a friend’s wedding, had a little dance together; it was pretty serious right from the start.” And said of Peter, “He’s not an actor, he’s a normal man. Well not a normal man, he’s Irish, but you know what I mean.”

The couple has a 2 year-old son together. Headey will seek joint legal and physical custody of their child.

Child custody can be a sticky issue for many couples. If there is any disagreement about who will get physical custody, it’s very important to have a child custody attorney working with the couple to resolve their differences before a nasty battle ensues.

Headey’s career has been picking up steam, but there is no word on how the couple plans to divide their assets. Not all wealthy celebrities get locked in a fight over money or property, but if they do a divorce lawyer can help them come up with a settlement both parties agree on.
