Lions’ Suh Hit with $1M Lawsuit for Traffic Accident

Detroit Lions’ defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is being sued for $1 million by a woman who was injured by the player in December traffic accident in Oregon

When the accident occurred, Suh notified police of the accident but said there were no injuries, but one of the women involved say otherwise.

Saadia Van Winkle claims she has suffered. In the lawsuit, Van Winkle says that Suh was reckless, negligent and intentionally inflicted emotional distress when he crashed his car into a light pole and fountain and a tree on December 3^rd.

Van Winkle had a cut above her eye which required stiches and also sustained neck and back injuries.

The attorney representing Van Winkle told the Detroit Free Press, “I think what we say to that is these high-profile athletes and celebrity-types that they can get away with this stuff and they are never held accountable. She wants to hold him accountable and she’s taking the charges very seriously. I think a jury will do the same. His actions after the accident were egregious.”

Suh was on a two-game suspension at the time of the accident, but wasn’t intoxicated.  The lawsuit claims he lied to 911 when he said there were no injuries resulting from the collision. However Suh allegedly showed up at Van Winkle’s house after the accident and offered to pay $700 to keep her quiet about the incident.
