Exxon Mobil Corporation XOM ,EXXON INKS LNG DEAL: ENERGY STOCKS RISE

Exxon Mobil Corporation- through its divisions and affiliates is engaged in exploration for, and production of, crude oil and natural gas, manufacture of petroleum products and transportation and sale of crude oil, natural gas and petroleum products. A manufacturer and marketer of commodity petrochemicals, including olefins,aromatics, polyethylene and polypropylene plastics and a wide variety of specialty products. It also has interests in electric power generation facilities.

As PetroChina signed a major liquid natural gas purchase contract with Exxon Mobil. Energy stocks rebounded after bruising losses in the previous session,  LNG deal, ConocoPhillips COP 42.59, +0.23, +0.54% and Origin Energy Ltd. of Sydney chose a 230-hectacre site Queensland, Australia for a proposed plant near the Surat and Bowen basins. The companies expect the 50-50 venture to sell its first shipment in 2014. ConocoPhillips shares rose 0.5% to $42.59.

Among stocks in the spotlight, Exxon Mobil  XOM 66.49, -0.06, -0.09% fell 6 cents to $66.49. The oil major signed a major deal to sell liquefied natural gas from the planned Gorgon project in Australia to PetroChina PTR 109.56, +2.11, +1.96%. Shares of PetroChina rose 2% to $109.56.
