Katherine Jackson regained guardianship of Michael Jackson’s three children Thursday, a week after Los Angeles Judge Mitchell Bleckloff named her grandson T.J. temporary guardian amid reports Katherine, 82, was being held against her will in Arizona. In Thursday’s hearing, Bleckoff said Katherine was doing “a wonderful job” taking care of Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10.
"It's clear that the kids love Mrs. Jackson and they are very well taken care of. They also love T.J. Jackson, and Mrs. Jackson is doing a terrific job with the children,” Bleckoff said.
T.J., 34, will remain temporary guardian for now. He will eventually share full guardianship with Katherine.
Katherine was temporarily stripped of guardianship last Wednesday after Beckloff said it appeared she was unable to act as guardian because of an “intentional act from third parties." Hours after the decision, Katherine read a statement to ABC News denying she was held against her will. She said she was voluntarily enjoying a “short vacation and rest” at Miraval Resort & Spa.
"I am devastated that while I've been away ... my grandchildren have been taken away from me, and I'm coming home to see about that," Katherine said with her children Rebbie, Jermaine and Janet standing behind her.
"There are rumors going around about me that I have been kidnapped. I am here today to let everybody know that I am fine and I am here with my children, and my children would never do a thing to me like that, holding me against my will. It's very stupid for people to think that," she added.
