FDA Concern Highlights Even The Most Common Drugs Are Still Poisons
Acetaminophen is number one cause of liver failure in the United States

In recent months the FDA has been proposing a ban or restrictions on use of acetaminophen, the ingredient found in popular over-the-counter products like Tylenol and Excedrin and combine acetaminophen with narcotics like oxycodone (found in Percocet) and Hydrocodone (in Vicodin). The use and over use of acetaminophen in the most popular pain relieving products has made the drug the number 1 cause of liver failure in the U.S. Obviously many more Americans need to be made aware of the truth about drugs and how dangerous even extremely common and highly promoted and advertised drugs like Tylenol, Excedrin, Percocet and Vicodin etc.
How many times does the average mom give their children one the of these pain relievers for a headache or other minor pain without knowing the dangers associated with doing so. After years of acceptance the child can then turn to acetaminophen and other drugs for every little pain and discomfort in life. Oddly enough, this is similar to a discussion of how drug addicts are made in that a person who becomes addicted does so after electing to handle their problems either physical or emotional by using drugs. Once they become addicted, the drug or alcohol itself becomes the problem. Still, addiction is not what the person was seeking by using the drug or alcohol.
The FDA is seeking to at least mandate a warning label on products containing acetaminophen to include information on severe liver injury. Narconon Arrowhead’s drug educator John Bitinez urges that “children and adults alike must be informed”…”when a person suffers from pain and/or discomfort they will tend to use the drug most popularized by advertising and promotion but this can be a life threatening choice when that same drug may be the potential cause for abuse and ultimately severe physical issues like liver failure”.
