West Vancouver's most iconic eyesore will be picked up and moved in the spring as part of a $40-million project to smooth the flow of traffic near the Lions Gate Bridge. Lions Gate Entertainment old eyesore will be moved to the north while new bridge is built.

The Old Capilano Bridge, known locally as the Blue Bridge, will be shifting to temporary footings a few metres north of its current Marine Drive location in order to make way for a three-lane replacement. The move, scheduled to take place after the Olympics, will allow traffic to continue to flow over the Capilano River while the new span is being built.
