Sharon Osbourne Accuses NBC Of Discrimination, Quits America’s Got Talent

Accusing NBC of discrimination against her son because of his recent multiple sclerosis diagnosis, Sharon Osbourne has quit America’s Got Talent after six seasons. Osbourne tells the New York Post she decided to break her contract with the show because she “can’t be fake.”

"It’s time to move on," she says.

As for breaking her contract, Osbourne says, "They can’t make me do something I don’t want to do. All they can do is stop me from being a judge on another network for five years."

The 59-year-old claims NBC fired her son Jack Osbourne from their upcoming reality show Stars Earn Stripes because of his MS diagnosis. "It's discrimination, and it was badly handled,” she says.

Stars Earn Stripes producer David Hurwitz said Jack never signed a contract and was simply “somebody we were in talks with.” In a statement to the Post on Sunday, a rep for NBC said they “regret any misunderstanding and wish Jack well.”

It is unclear who will take Osborne’s place alongside Howard Stern and Howie Mandel at the America’s Got Talent judge’s table.
