For the second time this year, country singer Randy Travis has been arrested on alcohol-related charges. Texas authorities say Travis was taken into custody late Tuesday night near Tioga for suspicion of DWI and a felony charge of “retaliation and obstruction.”
Travis’ arrest took place shortly after he crashed his car. Police found him after receiving a call about a man lying in the road. TMZ reports Travis had cuts and bruises on his face and was completely naked when officers arrived at the scene. The Grayson County Sheriff's Office said the musician smelled strongly of alcohol. He was charged with retaliation and obstruction because he “made threats to shoot and kill the troopers” while being transported to a nearby jail.
Travis has not commented.
After his public intoxication arrest outside a Stranger, Texas church in February, Travis issued an apology. "I apologize for what resulted following an evening of celebrating the Super Bowl," he told The Wrap. "I'm committed to being responsible and accountable, and apologize for my actions."
