Joe Simpson, the father and manager of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson, was busted for drunk driving in Sherman Oaks, California last weekend. TMZ reports Joe was arrested Saturday around 10 p.m. after officers pulled him over on Ventura Boulevard. The 54-year-old was held in jail overnight and released around 9:41 a.m. on Sunday.
Simpson has not commented. The former Baptist minister is now a reality show producer and talent manager.
The Simpson family most recently made headlines for the birth of Jessica’s first child with fiancé Eric Johnson, daughter Maxwell Drew, in May. Maxwell is the second grandchild for Joe and wife Tina; younger daughter Ashlee welcomed son Bronx in 2008.
