Blake Fielder-Civil, the ex-husband of the late Amy Winehouse, is hospitalized in the U.K. for multiple organ failure apparently brought on by a recent drug and alcohol binge. Fielder-Civil’s girlfriend Sarah Aspin tells The Sun the 30-year-old was put on life support last Friday after she found him intoxicated and choking in bed.
"The doctors say they don't know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection,” says Aspin, who has 1-year-old son with Fielder-Civil.
"I'm praying he'll survive, but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up," she adds. "I am devastated, just devastated, at what has happened. I just want to cry all the time, but I have to be strong for our son, Jack."
Winehouse’s father Mitch has asked fans to pray for Fielder-Civil. "Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let’s pray for his recovery," he Tweeted.
Fielder-Civil and Winehouse divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage. Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning on July 23, 2011 at the age of 27.
