Oprah Winfrey will become the next subject for quasi biographer Kitty Kelley. Best known for her dirt digging ability on previous biographies of Nancy Reagan, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Jackie O, and President George W. Bush, Kelley will ply her trade on the media queen Winfrey.
In a statement issued yesterday by the Crown Publishing Group, Kelley said “Oprah Winfrey has fascinated me for many years -- as a woman, she has wielded an unprecedented amount of influence over the American culture and psyche.”
Just how Winfrey gained that unprecedented amount of influence could be the subject Kelley focuses on. According to Crown, Kelley “plans to interview hundreds of sources, many of whom have never before spoken on the record about her subject.”
More than likely those interviews won’t be conducted with Winfrey’s closest friends. Kelley’s past biographies, all of which were unauthorized by the subject, have never earned her a Christmas card from the targeted personality.
