FAMILY ROOM MAKEOVER IN 48 HOURS BY SIMPLY PUT INTERIORS

Space is Redecorated from top to bottom with Creativity and a Talented Team.

Baltimore, Maryland December 15, 2006 – It was like an episode of the television show on TLC “While You Were Out.” With her husband on a short business trip, Cyndie Stefanik decided to surprise him with a completely decorated family room.  She called in a team of experts to get the job done. “We had a blank canvas, $10,000 and 48 hours,” said Paula Henry of Simply Put Interiors. “The room was empty and the clock was ticking.”

Henry and a team of talented decorators set to transform the family room. “It was power shopping at its best,” said Henry. Once a concept was developed, the team began shopping for an inspiration piece.  “We were fortunate to find a beautiful leather sectional sofa and a large colorful print available for immediate delivery,” Henry said.  The design team used these pieces to finalize the color palette and as a jumping-off point for the remaining purchases.  The “power decorators” shopped feverishly to find complementary furniture and accessories. “The added challenge to this project was finding furnishings available for immediate delivery. We did not have the luxury of time,” Henry stated.

In addition to a cozy sitting area where the family could watch TV and enjoy a fire, a pub table created a multi-functional place for games and snacks. Simply Put Interiors pulled out the bag of tricks and created one-of-a-kind accents to complete the design. “We couldn’t find just the right area rug to anchor the pub table so we made our own,” Henry explained.  “We found some colorful small rugs, designed our pattern and stitched the rugs together.  It turned out to be one of the homeowner’s favorite things.”

Simply Put Interiors understands that good decorating is not just about furniture and color.  “You must honor homeowners and their needs.  You have to be able to step out of your box to give your clients’ homes they can’t wait to come home to,” said Henry.  One of the special touches added to the Stefaniks family room was a bar area with a clock permanently set to 5 o’clock. Above it, the team hand-painted, “It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere” a nod to husband John who is a big Jimmy Buffet fan. “Not only did we complete this project in 48 hours, we came in under budget and John Stefanik was surprised and thrilled,” said Henry.
