A gunman was arrested near Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas Monday afternoon after firing multiple shots. Police spokeswoman Rhonda Seaton confirms several people, including police officers, suffered gunshot wounds. No deaths have been reported.
The shooting occurred at a house about 1 block from the university. The school immediately posted a warning on their emergency website. “Avoid Area. CSPD reports an active shooter in the area immediately southeast of the intersection of Welborn Rd and George Bush Drive. Please avoid the area. Residents in the immediate area need to remain inside their residence,” the first warning reads.
The university later updated the location of the shooter to the 200 block of Fidelity Dr. Their latest update reads: “CSPD reports that the shooter is in custody. Continue to avoid the area.”
No other details on the shooting were immediately available. The gunman has not been identified.
