NHL Scores from Dec. 14; Maxim Afinogenov, Steve Sullivan, Matt Cullen, and Mike Comrie lead their teams to wins.

Brad Stuart scored a goal and added an assist in the third period to lift the Boston Bruins (15-12-2) past the New Jersey Devils (17-11-2) 5-3. Patrice Bergeron finished with two goals while Brad Boyes had a goal and two assists for the Bruins. The Devils racked up 29 minutes in penalties which resulted in three power play goals for Boston. Boston’s final goal came on an empty netter.
 
Maxim Afinogenov scored a power play goal in the third period to give the Buffalo Sabres (24-5-2) a 2-1 win over the Florida Panthers (10-18-6). Afinogenov was credited with an assist as well. Ryan miller stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced for the Sabres. Jozef Stumpel scored the only goal for Florida.
 
The Montreal Canadiens (18-8-5) scored three goals in the third period to come from behind and beat the Tampa Bay Lightning (14-16-2) 4-2. Maxim Lapierre scored the tting goal for the Canadiens and Saku Koivu followed that with a shorthanded goal for the lead and an empty netter to seal the win. Cristobal Huet stopped 41 shots for Montreal.
 
Steve Sullivan recorded a hat-trick with all three goals coming within six minutes in the second period and the Nashville Predators (20-8-3) blew out the Ottawa Senators (16-16-1) 6-0. The Predators also got three assists from Paul Kariya and another three from J.P. Dumont. Scott Hartnell scored the first two goals in the Nashville rout. Chris Mason stopped all 22 shots he faced for the shutout.
 
Daniel Cleary scored the go-ahead goal in the second period and the Detroit Red Wings (18-8-4) went on to beat the Chicago Blackhawks (12-13-3) 3-2. Mikael Samuelsson scored a power play goal for the Red Wings in the third period while Henrik Zetterberg score Detroit’s first goal in the opening period. Jeff Hamilton and Tuomo Ruutu scored for Chicago.
 
Matt Cullen scored a pair of goals and Karel Rachunek had two of his own as the New York Rangers (18-10-4) skated to a 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars (20-12-0). Brendan Shanahan and Jarkko Immonen each assisted on two goals for the Rangers. Philippe Boucher and Sergei Zubov each scored a goal and recorded an assist fro the Stars.
 
The Edmonton Oilers (17-12-2) scored three goals in the third period to overcome a one goal deficit and beat the Minnesota Wild (16-13-2) 3-1. The Oilers got goals from Matt Greene, Jarret Stoll, and Shawn Horcoff in the final frame to get the win. Todd White put the Wild in the lead with a goal in the fourth minute of the first period but Oilers goalie Dwayne Roloson shut Minnesota down from that point on, stopping 24 of 25 shots on the night.
 
Mike Comrie scored the deciding goal in the shootout as the Phoenix Coyotes (12-18-1) beat the Columbus Blue Jackets (11-16-3) 5-4. Comrie also added a goal and an assist for the Coyotes in the second period. Ed Jovanovski had a goal and an assist in the second frame as well. Zbynek Michalek had two assists for Phoenix. Rick Nash had a goal and two assists for Columbus.
 
The Vancouver Canucks (16-15-1) scored two goals in the second period and added another in the third to beat the Calgary Flames (15-11-3) 3-1. Matthew Lombardi put the Flames in the lead in the second but Vancouver answered with goals from Mattias Ohlund, Henri Sedin, and Brendan Morrison to earn the win. Roberto Luongo stopped 21 of 22 shots for Vancouver.
 
The Los Angeles Kings (12-17-4) jumped to a 4-0 lead and held on to beat the San Jose Sharks (23-10-0) 4-2. Anze Kopitar scored two first period goals for the Kings and Derek Anderson added a goal and an assist for Los Angeles.
