Injured Kristin Chenoweth Leaves The Good Wife

Kristin Chenoweth announced Monday she will not be returning to The Good Wife due to injuries she sustained on the show’s New York set last month.

"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife at this time. [I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you everyone for your concern,” Chenoweth, 44, told People magazine in a statement.

CBS released a statement saying the show would “love to have her back when she’s feeling better.”

Chenoweth was injured on Wednesday, July 11 when a strong gust of wind caused lighting equipment to fall on her. She reportedly hit her head on the concrete. “All of us at the studio and the show are thinking about Kristin and wishing her a quick recovery,” CBS said at the time.

Chenoweth most recently starred on the first and only season of ABC’s comedy/drama series GCB. She can be seen next on the season premiere of The Good Wife on September 30. Chenoweth will then star opposite Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell in the upcoming action comedy Hit & Run.
