Bobby Brown Enters Rehab As Part Of DUI Deal

As part of a deal in his DUI arrest, Bobby Brown is seeking treatment at an undisclosed rehab facility. Brown, ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston, was ordered to complete a 3 month alcohol program in exchange for authorities dropping misdemeanor charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license. Brown was also sentenced to 3 years of probation.

"Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour. Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California,” the singer’s attorney Christopher Brown said in a statement Wednesday.

Brown’s wife of two months, Alicia Etheredge, released a statement saying his “children and loved ones are very proud of him.” “We appreciate his fans' prayers and well wishes. Bobby is mentally in a good place,” she added.

Brown was arrested on March 26 in San Fernando Valley, California after being stopped for talking on his cell phone while driving. He showed signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test. The incident came just over a month after Whitney Houston died. Brown has a 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, with Houston.
