News became better for housing market propelled stocks higher Friday, while earning reports rose for retailer Gap and Salesforce.com jumped on appositive business forecast.
The three main indexes rose for the fourth consecutive day and are now five up higher for the past six weeks.
155.91 points gained for Dow Jones Industrial and raises up to 9505.96, its highest close since nov.4. For the week, index added 2%.
31.68 to 2020.90 on Friday rose to Nasdaq Composite Index, its largest one-day gain in a month. For the week, the index rose 1.8% the standard & Poor’s 500-share index rose 18.76 or 1.9% to 1026.13. It added to 2.2 for the week
Stocks urged after data showed that existing-home sales rose to their highest level in nearly two years during July.
