HarperCollins officially severed their relationship with renegade publisher Judith Reagan on Friday in response to the outrage surrounding the O.J. Simpson book, “If I Did It.”
Reagan drew the ire of the public and media earlier this year when she reportedly paid O.J. Simpson $3.5 million for a book/television deal. As part of the deal, O.J. Simpson would outline how he would have committed the murders of former wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
News Corp., which owns HarperCollins, decided to nix the project earlier this month. From that point on Reagan’s future with Rupert Murdoch and his media conglomerate was in jeopardy. On Friday the ax fell.
