Their lobbying fees are slightly less than the first quarter and a bit more than the same quarter last year, according to a recent disclosure form.

Oracle’s lobbying interests included computer software standards, patent and information security issues, work-related immigration, and tax and trade matters.

Oracle is the market leader in database software, and is branching out into hardware with its proposed $7.4 billion acquisition of Sun Microsystems Inc. (NASDAQ: JAVA), a deal that has recently been approved by the Justice Department but still needs the go-ahead from the European Commission.

Oracle's declaration came in a July 20 filing with the House clerk's office that covers the April-June period.

In the first quarter of this year, the company spent nearly $1.4 million on lobbying. In the second quarter of last year, Oracle spent nearly $1.3 million.
