Wynonna Judd has canceled four upcoming concerts in Canada while her new husband, drummer Cactus Moser, recovers from serious injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident over the weekend. On Monday, Judd’s rep told People magazine Moser’s left leg was “severed at the scene” of the accident. Doctors were forced to amputate the leg above the knee. Moser also required major surgery on his hand.
The accident occurred Saturday on Highway 16 in the Black Hills mountain range of South Dakota. Moser, 55, accidentally veered into the southbound lane and hit the side on an oncoming car. Judd was on her own motorcycle and was not involved in the accident.
"The outpouring of prayer and support from friends, family and fans has been a blessing to both Cactus and I. Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply and I will not leave his side," the country singer said in a statement over the weekend.
Judd’s canceled concerts were set for Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 21; Regina, Saskatchewan on August 22; Carlylye, Saskatchewan on August 24; and Llyodminster, Saskatchewan on August 25. She plans to reschedule the shows.
Judd, 48, quietly wed Moser at her Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee home in July. Guests included Judd’s two children and Moser’s three children. "I didn't want it to be about anyone but Cactus and me. Because to me, at the end of the day, it's the children, Cactus, and me . . I was so concerned about making this feel special for them, everything fell away,” she previously said of the intimate wedding.
