AP Week 7 Top 25 NCAA Men's College Basketball
Pittsburgh loss only effect on AP Week 7 Top 25, Wisconsin moves up after upsetting the Panthers.
UCLA maintained its #1 ranking in the AP Top 25 this week after handling Oakland 74-53 on Saturday. The Bruins will face off against Sam Houston State on Tuesday and then the once-beaten Michigan Wolverines on Saturday.
The North Carolina Tar Heels jumped up one spot to claim the #2 ranking after pounding North Carolina-Asheville 93-62 on Saturday. The Tar Heels have a relatively easy week ahead with Florida Atlantic on Tuesday followed by Saint Louis on Friday.
Ohio State climbed back up to #3 after beating Cincinnati by 22 points on Saturday. The Buckeyes will face Iowa State on Tuesday before their big game against #5 Florida on Saturday.
The AP recognized Wisconsin’s big win over then #2 Pittsburgh and handed the Badgers the #4 ranking this week. Wisconsin beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee last Tuesday and upset then #2 Pittsburgh 89-75 on Saturday. Wisconsin’s only game this week is against Pacific on Saturday.
Florida held their #5 spot in the AP Top 25 after beating Florida A&M 72-57 on Sunday. The Gators will have their work cut out for them this week. After playing Stetson on Wednesday they have #3 Ohio State on Saturday.
Duke didn’t play a game all week and stayed at the #6 spot this week. Tuesday will match the Blue Devils against Kent State and then they will take on #22 Gonzaga on Thursday.
Pittsburgh fell five spots to land at #7 after losing to new #2 Wisconsin on Saturday. The Panthers will take on #15 Oklahoma State on Thursday before facing Dayton on Saturday.
The #8 ranking once again belongs to the Wichita State Shockers. They easily beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 102-46 on Sunday. They’ll face Kennesaw State on Tuesday and then New Mexico on Friday.
Arizona climbed one spot to #9 after beating Houston on Sunday. The Wildcats will be matched against #18 Memphis on Wednesday.
Alabama switched positions with Arizona and dropped one spot to #10. The Crimson Tide beat Southern Miss. 77-64 on Saturday. They face North Carolina State on Wednesday and Coppin State on Saturday.
