Bomb Attacks on Buses Leave at least 20 Dead in Southern Iraq

Two minibuses near the southern Iraqi town of Kut exploded on Monday, killing at least 20 people and leaving another ten more people wounded.

According to reports, the bombs had been attached to the buses and exploded as the vehicles were traveling along the main road between Kut and Baghdad.

Despite the Iraqi government’s insistence that the country’s security forces could slow the outbreak of militant violence there has been a steady stream of deadly blasts since the United States pulled its troops from the urban areas of the country.
