NFL Preseason Schedule Monday Night Football Aug 24: Joe Flacco Leads Baltimore Ravens vs. New York Jets

The Baltimore Ravens will host the New York Jets in an AFC preseason match-up on Monday Night Football on ESPN. The game begins at 8:00pm ET.

Joe Flacco enters the season after having a great rookie season, trying to make sure that he doesn’t suffer from a sophomore jinx. Flacco, like most starting quarterbacks in the NFL, hasn’t played too much during the preseason, allowing Troy Smith and John Beck to take the majority of snaps.

The Ravens are 1-0 in the preseason after defeating the Washington Redskins, 23-0, last week.

The Ravens return their renowned defense, led by linebacker Ray Lewis, safety Ed Reed, linebacker Terrell Suggs and nose tackle Haloti Ngata.

The Jets hope rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez can have a Flacco-type rookie season as he replaces Brett Favre, who recently returned from retirement to play for the Minnesota Vikings. Sanchez still has to battle Kellen Clemens for the starting position.
