NBA Scores from Dec. 18; Dwayne Wade, Jason Kidd, and Dirk Nowitzki lead teams to wins.

Dwyane Wade hit a fade away jumper with time running out to lift the Miami Heat (11-13) over the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets (10-13) 101-99. Wade finished with 29 points and dished out 9 assists while Udonis Haslem added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the win. Chris Paul led the Hornets with 26 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. The Hornets lost despite outscoring the Heat 37-21 in the second quarter.

Jason Kidd recorded his 81st career triple double as the New Jersey Nets (10-14) beat the Golden State Warriors (12-14) 105-97. Kidd finished with 10 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds. Nenad Krstic led the Nets in scoring with 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Baron Davis had a solid game for the Warriors with 25 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. The Nets out-rebounded the Warriors 58-41.

Stephon Marbury hit a shot at the buzzer to give the New York Knicks (10-17) a 97-96 victory over the Utah Jazz (18-7). The Knicks were playing with a limited squad after four players began serving their suspension for Saturday night’s brawl with Denver. David Lee had a monster game with 17 points and 20 rebounds while Marbury stepped it up with 29 points and 8 assists. Carlos Boozer led the Jazz with 23 points and 10 rebounds. The Knicks pulled down 63 rebounds in the game.

Mike Miller scored 29 points, had 11 rebounds, and handed out 7 assists as the Memphis Grizzlies (6-19) beat the Seattle Supersonics (10-16) in double-overtime 134-126. Chucky Atkins added 28 points and 8 assists and Rudy Gay finished with 17 points and 6 rebounds in the win. Rashard Lewis finished with 36 points and 14 rebounds for Seattle.

Dirk Nowitzki had 29 points and 13 rebounds and Josh Howard ended the night with 28 points as the Dallas Mavericks (18-7) beat the Sacramento Kings (10-13) 109-91. The win was the fifth in a row for the Mavericks. Jason Terry finished with 22 points for Dallas. Kenny Thomas led the Kings with 15 points and 15 rebounds in the loss. Dallas shot 52 percent from the field while the Kings shot 39 percent.

The short-handed Denver Nuggets (14-9) led the Washington Wizards (12-12) by 20 points after the first quarter and went on to win 117-108. Marcus Camby stepped up in place of the suspended Carmelo Anthony with 25 points and 17 rebounds while Earl Boykins scored 29 and Andre Miller added another 27 points for Denver. Caron Butler led the Wizards with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
