“This What I Get for Being a Bridesmaid” Florida Woman Tells Police After Her DUI Arrest

A Florida woman, charged with DUI over the weekend blames her decision to be a bridesmaid for her friend’s upcoming wedding for her arrest. So now in addition to her wedding obligations, she has to add the frustration of dealing with an arrest.

Lesley Falcone, 27, was pulled over by police Friday night after attending a “bachelorette meeting.” She was caught driving 63 mph in a 45 mph zone. Police said she was drifting in and out of oncoming traffic.

After police pulled Falcone over they noticed that she had “watery and glassy eyes” with a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. The arresting officer noted in the report, “The defendant had an obvious sway when she stood upright” adding, “I went on to explain the walk and the defendant was unable to stand in the starting position.” Once they conducted field sobriety tests, she was placed under arrest.

The police report also stated that while she was being transported to the jail facility she remarked, “This is what I get for being a bridesmaid.”  Falcone also admitted to officers that she has several drinks before and after the bridesmaid dinner.  She obviously didn’t pay attention when police told her she had the right to remain silent.

Being a bridesmaid isn’t a valid defense when facing a judge. If Falcone really hopes to beat the conviction or plea for a lesser charge then she will need a skilled DUI attorney, who will evaluate the charges and decide the best way to approach her defense.
