Delta Apparel Inc. DLA, Management Discusses Record FY09 Revenues and Outloook for FY10

Shares of Delta Apparel, Inc. (DLA) hits a 52-week high during Friday's session after the Company announced its financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended June 27, 2009.
Net sales for the three months ended June 27, 2009, were $104.7 million, down 0.6% from the prior year's fourth quarter. Net income for the current year fourth quarter was $4.0 million, or $0.47 per diluted share, compared to net income of $4.3 million, or $0.50 per diluted share, for the prior year fourth quarter.
Fiscal year 2009 net sales increased 10.3% to a record $355.2 million compared to $322.0 million for the prior fiscal year. The sales increase was driven by organic growth in each of the Company's four business units as well as the acquisition of To The Game. the Company reported net income of $6.5 million, or $0.76 per diluted share, compared to a fiscal year 2008 net loss of $0.5 million, or ($0.06) per diluted share, which included a ($0.39) per diluted share impact from restructuring related charges.
