Miss USA Tara Connor has survived the storm surrounding recent allegations that she has been living the wild life ever since taking the crown at the Miss USA pageant in April.
Connor, who turned 21 on Monday, had come under fire for frequenting New York bars while underage.
Donald Trump met with Connor on Tuesday morning and discussed the situation with the 5’5 blonde. Trump, along with NBC, owns the Miss Universe Organization. Contrary to his hardball demeanor on the hit show “The Apprentice”, Trump declared “I’ve always been a believer in second chances,” and with that statement Connor was allowed to retain the Miss USA title.
Trump seemed to portray Connor as the victim of too much to fast saying, “She left a small town in Kentucky and she was telling me that she got caught up in the whirlwind of New York. It's a story that has happened many times before to many women and many men who came to the Big Apple. They wanted their slice of the Big Apple and they found out it wasn't so easy.”
Given the second chance to retain her crown, a shaken Connor said to Trump “You'll never know what this means to me, and I swear I will not let you down.”
Apparently part of the second chance involves curbing her drinking. Trump said she would be entering rehab.
