After Michael’s shocking elimination, Rachel is forced to partner with Nick for the remainder of the game. Chris Harrison reveals each couple will now compete together, vote together and be eliminated together.
This week’s challenge was a spelling bee in which each couple has to spell their word by alternating letters. Couples are eliminated after three misspelled words. It comes down to Ed and Jaclyn battling against Sarah and Chris, the couple everyone wants to eliminate. Sarah and Chris correctly spell “serendipity” for the win.
In addition to safety at the rose ceremony, Sarah and Chris get a romantic overnight date in California’s wine country. At dinner they discuss if Chris is ready for another relationship following his recent breakup with Bachelorette Emily Maynard. Chris admits he still thinks about Emily.
As runner-up in the spelling bee, Jaclyn and Ed also get an overnight date. They take a small plane to Channel Islands where they enjoy a picnic. Ed admits he has a girl back home that he likes and is still pursing. He reveals they broke up so he could be single on Bachelor Pad. Jaclyn is upset he didn’t tell her about his situation before they let their relationship go this far. Over dinner they agree to continue with their relationship as it has been since the beginning of Bachelor Pad. The pair is given a set of roses to hand out and they give them to Blakeley and Tony.
Back at the mansion, the couples try to figure out how they will vote since Chris and Sarah are safe. Rachel initially wanted to be eliminated, but she changes her mind after a talk with Blakeley and Jaclyn. The girls agree to stick together, which made Kalon and Lindzi the target. Kalon and Lindzi make a last effort to turn the couples against Rachel and Nick, but it doesn't work. Kalon and Lindzi are sent packing at the rose ceremony.
