Scott Walker, who plays a Hershel Greene on AMC’ s popular zombie series “The Walking Dead,” is facing a DUI charge after he was arrested last week in a suburb outside Atlanta.
“The Walking Dead” takes place and is filmed in and around Georgia.
Wilson, whose character is a former alcoholic, was stopped by police in Peachtree City after he was caught driving 70 mph, “well above the posted speed limit for the area,” according to local officials. Police also noted that he was swerving in and out of driving lanes several times.
Wilson admitted to police that he had wine and scotch at a nearby restaurant.
Police administered field sobriety tests which Wilson failed, and complained that roadway was “slanted” and offered to do yoga poses in lieu of the sobriety tests, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
A breathalyzer administered on the scene showed that his BAC was .143, significantly above the legal limit. Later at the Fayetteville County Jail, Wilson’s BAC was .151.
DUI lawyers often challenge the results of a blood alcohol test when building a defense for their clients.
Police were tipped off by a witness who reported seeing a drunken driver.
A DUI creates a whole series of headaches; offenders are faced with jail time, a loss of driving privileges along with the cost of penalties and fines. When possible, the accused should contact a legal expert in order to stop a conviction or negotiate with prosecutors for a lesser charge.
