Bill and Giuliana Rancic are officially the proud parents of a healthy baby boy. The couple confirms their gestational carrier delivered Edward Duke Rancic Wednesday night at 10:12 in Denver, Colorado. Bill cut the umbilical cord and Giuliana held Edward first.
“The ‘Duke’ has landed! Edward Duke Rancic was welcomed into the world last night at 7 lbs., 4 oz. G & I feel blessed beyond words…We did it!” Bill, 41, Tweeted Thursday morning.
"Bill and I are blessed beyond words to welcome Edward into our lives," Giuliana, 37, told E! News. "Thank you so much to everyone who supported us along the way. We are so in love with the little guy already!"
The Rancics announced in March they were expecting a baby via gestational carrier. The couple decided to go with a gestational carrier after Guiliana was diagnosed with breast cancer while preparing for IVF last year.
“Technically this baby saved her life because had she not gone through IVF -- the doctor made it mandatory that she get a mammogram -- they would have never found what they found so we owe this little guy debt of gratitude and I'm sure he'll never let you forget it!" Bill previously told Us Weekly magazine.
Giuliana underwent a double mastectomy last December and is now free of cancer.
