The upcoming sixth season of Jersey Shore will be the last, MTV announced Thursday. The network is giving the hit show a big sendoff with a pre-season special called Gym, Tan, Look Back as well as a post-season reunion special. Gym, Tan, Look Back is scheduled to air on September 6 at 6 p.m. Season six will premiere on October 4 at 10 p.m. ET.
MTV dished about season six in March. "The house dynamic is headed into unchartered territory as their lives outside of the 'Shore' take off in exciting new directions. While things will definitely be a little different this time when they hit the boardwalk, their trademark hilarity and family dysfunction will remain the same,” the network said.
One of the “new directions” will be Snooki’s journey to motherhood. The 24-year-old was pregnant when the season was filmed. Snooki and her fiancé Jionni LaValle welcomed their son Lorenzo on August 26.
After Jersey Shore ends, fans can catch Snooki and JWoww on the second season of their spinoff Snooki & JWoww. It is unclear if Pauly D’s spinoff The Pauly D Project will return for another season.
