More than five years after its inception, June 30, 2004, to August 24, 2009, 5.39 percent of the BB&T Equity Income Fund has racked up. 500's total return was -2.24 percent from S&P during the same period of time. Morningstar stated the fund ranks in the top 1 percent of its large-cap value peer group for three-year and five-year periods based on total return. The Equity Income Fund returned -20.56 percent for the one-year period and -1.84 percent for the three-year period.
