A senior al Qaeda leader believed to have been responsible for the killings of hundreds of Iraqi civilians has been captured by U.S. forces.
While not revealing the man’s name, U.S. military did say that they captured the terrorist leader on December 14 while they raided the northern city of Mosul.
According to a military statement the man “was personally responsible for hundreds of civilian deaths, including women and children. He housed foreign fighters to be used in suicide bombing attacks against the Coalition and the Iraqi people.”
The U.S. raid resulted in the capture of five other suspects believed to be linked to al Qaeda.
