Aug 17, 2009,Total Petrochemicals USA informed that it cut rates to Unit 838 after it suffered a snag at its Port Arthur, Texas refinery, according to a notice filed Monday with state pollution regulators.
"Unit 838 lost the hydrogen compressor sending acid gas to the FGR and subsequently flaring to the north and south flares," said the filing with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. "Cut rates on unit to control flaring event."
