Motorola, the leader of the Russian cellular market in 2004, has halted supplies of mobile phones to the RF, reports the Vedomosti newspaper.
Euroset, Russia's largest mobile phone retailer, admits there are less than 3.7 thousand Motorola phones in stock. Svyaznoy, Euroset's key competitor, running 1.79 thousand stores all over the country has only 150 Motorola phones to sell, while MTS retail chain (3 thousand outlets) had cleared the stock by the beginning of summer.
Motorola is having a break in supplies, the spokesman for the company said. Russian mobile phone retailers are now interested in budget models not represented in Motorola's production range.
