Rite Aid attracts shoppers with multiple back-to-school promotional offers in its August "Single Check Rebates" catalog.
The company targets teen girls specifically with two campaigns:
* a "Celebrate Girls Night In" effort with Johnson & Johnson offering "mix and match" rebates on Clean & Clear and Neutrogena skincare, cosmetics and hair care products and encouraging girls to "invite your best friends over for a "Beauty Makeover Sleepover." The promotion runs July 26 to Sept. 26.
* a return to the chain's periodic "Glam Camp" marketing platform that dangles a free "Back to School Survival Kit" of beauty samples with purchase of three participating products from eight brand partners including L'Oreal's Maybelline, Sally Hansen and Reckitt Benckiser's Clearasil and Veet. The campaign comprises of product demonstrations at roughly 200 stores in 17 states during August, as well as sampling at summer concerts and other venues.
