WEATHER TRENDS INTERNATIONAL CO-SPONSORS NATURALS GAME TO SUPPORT THE HELEN R. WALTON CHILDREN’S CENTER IN BENTONVILLE, ARKANSAS

BENTONVILLE, AR (26 August 2009):  Weather Trends International is tonight’s co-sponsor for Northwest Arkansas Naturals baseball game as they make their final homestand against Springfield at 7pm.  To help spur the Naturals on as they make a run for the playoffs, Weather Trends International will donate $300 for every hit by the Naturals to the Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center.  In the unlikely event the Naturals have an off night, very unlikely, Weather Trends guarantees $3,000 to the Children’s Center and more if there are more than 10 hits.  So, go Naturals!

"We are extremely pleased to partner with Weather Trends International," says Michelle Stephens, Executive Director.  "Their philanthropic leadership and support of the local community will help ensure that young children enter kindergarten well prepared for future success," continues Stephens.  “In addition to their generous donation, Weather Trends sent us 40 tickets which we have given to families of the center who will attend tonight’s exciting game to root the Naturals on to a 20-hit night” said Teresa Mills, HWCEC Development Manager.

The nice weather for tonight’s game is a bonus with game-time temperatures in the upper 70s, bearable humidity and a nice southerly breeze.  “We can’t take credit for the great weather tonight, but we’re absolutely thrilled to support the local community and the Walton’s Children Center.” said Bill Kirk, CEO of Bethlehem PA based Weather Trends International.  “We have been very fortunate to have significant profitable business growth so far in 2009 and that is due in large part to the 140+ clients we have in the Bentonville area that support their biggest client and our biggest client Wal-Mart.” added Kirk.  So, GO NATURALS!

About Helen R. Walton Children’s Enrichment Center  (HWCEC) is a Northwest Arkansas nonprofit organization providing early childhood education for two hundred and fifty children age six weeks to pre-kindergarten.  We are a State of Arkansas Quality Approved early childhood facility, an elite designation achieved by less than 10 percent of programs statewide.  We have provided high quality affordable care since 1982.  Our mission is simple: children are our first priority. We believe all children deserve high quality early childhood experiences.  Through our Early Childhood Initiatives Center, we engage Arkansas child care programs in mentoring, job training, and collaborative grant initiatives designed to improve the quality of early childhood education provided in our state.   In 2009, these free outreach programs improved the quality of care being provided by 3,500 Arkansas early childhood professionals responsible for nearly 30,000 children under age five.
