With National Recovery Month coming up in September, Narconon Louisiana participates in the celebration with successes from its drug treatment program.
This year, in celebration of National Recovery Month, the Narconon Louisiana drug and alcohol rehabilitation program will be sharing personal stories of recovery from those addicted as well as their loved ones. The center has been helping addicts for 3 years from the state of Louisiana, and throughout the country, overcome addiction while achieving a more than 76% success rate for permanent sobriety.
Since opening its doors, Narconon Louisiana has had more than 150 graduates from their residential drug treatment program located in Denham Springs. Louisiana.
One reason why Narconon Louisiana is so successful at treating addiction is because the program handles addiction on two levels; first addressing the physical aspect of the problem and then the mental and emotional components of addiction. Clients enrolled in the Narconon program undergo a sauna detoxification program which removes drug residues from the body, and reduces physical drug cravings.
The program then handles the underlying reasons why the person started using drugs in the first place and utilizes life skills therapy to help the individual overcome these barriers to successful recovery. Another important aspect of therapy at Narconon Louisiana is the way that addiction in general is looked at and handled.
"We do not subscribe to the idea that addiction is a disease,” Jeff Lukas, Executive Director of Narconon Louisiana. “Instead we focus on what problems drug were solutions for. Once these problems are isolated and handled the individual no longer has the need to use drugs."
“Our program continues to achieve positive results,” adds Lucas. “And we are very eager to share the successes that our clients have had with Narconon drug treatment.”
This year National Recovery Month will celebrate 20 years of promoting the message that successful recovery is possible with drug and alcohol treatment.
