Jets Stay on Playoff Course with 13-10 Win Over the Dolphins

Mike Nugent kicked a 30-yard field goal with 14 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the NY Jets passed the Miami Dolphins 13-10.
With rain falling throughout the game both teams struggled on the offensive side of the ball. Neither team could put any points on the board in the first half. The Jets finally cracked the board with a 22-yard field goal from Mike Nugent with 2:30 remaining in the third period.
The Dolphins responded to the field goal with a 73-yard drive capped off by a 7-yard touchdown pass from Cleo Lemon to Randy McMichael.
Chad Pennington answered for the Jets with a 32-yard touchdown strike to Jerricho Cotchery and NY reclaimed the lead 10-7. Miami knotted the score at 10-10 after Olindo Mare kicked a 25-yard field goal with just over two minutes remaining.
On the first play from scrimmage after the kickoff Pennington hit Leon Washington on a screen that went for 64-yards. That single play set up the game-winning field goal from Nugent.
Pennington finished with 237-yards passing and a touchdown while Washington had four receptions for 108-yards. The Dolphins were led by Ronnie Brown who rushed for 110-yards.
