NBA Scores from Dec. 26; Al Harrington, Michael Redd, Dirk Nowitzki, and Allen Iverson lead their teams to wins.
Al Harrington scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as the Indiana Pacers (16-14) beat the Houston Rockets (16-12) 81-76. Jeff Foster finished with 16 rebounds. Tracy McGrady led the Rockets with 19 points in the loss. Both teams shot poorly from the field, the Pacers shot 34.9 percent while the Rockets shot 36 percent.
The Washington Wizards (15-12) scored 45 points in the first quarter and eased past the Memphis Grizzlies (6-23) 116-101. Gilbert Arenas scored 31 points while Antawn Jamison scored 26 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the win. Alexander Johnson led the Grizzlies with 23 points and 10 rebounds.
Chauncy Billups hit two fre throws with 7 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the Detroit Pistons (18-8) past the New Jersey Nets (11-17) 92-91. Rasheed Wallace and Richard Hamilton each scored 21 points for the Pistons. Vince Carter led the Nets with 28 points and Jason Kidd had 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Randy Foye hit a runner with less than 2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the Minnesota Timberwolves (12-13) past the Chicago Bulls (16-12) 100-98. Kevin Garnett had 26 points, 14 rebounds and handed out 8 assists for the Wolves while Foye finished with 25 points off the bench. Ben Gordon scored 27 points to lead the Bulls.
The Milwaukee Bucks (14-14) overcame a 6 point halftime deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs (21-8) 114-107. Michael Redd scored 36 points for the Bucks and Andrew Bogut scored 14 points and had 11 rebounds in the Bucks win. Tim Duncan had 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Spurs. The loss dropped San Antonio to 10-5 at home.
Josh Howard scored 27 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Dirk Nowitzki had 23 points and had 7 rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks (21-7) beat the Charlotte Bobcats (7-20) 97-84. The win was the seventh in a row for Dallas. Adam Morrison led the Bobcats with 17 points.
Allen Iverson finished with a double-double, scoring 28 points and dished out 13 assists as the Denver Nuggets (15-10) beat the Boston Celtics (10-16) 116-105. Earl Boykins added 28 points for the Nuggets and Nene Hilario had 12 points and 14 rebounds. Al Jefferson led the Celtics with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
The Phoenix Suns (19-7) built a 17 point lead by halftime and went on to crush the visiting Portland Trail Blazers (12-16) 110-87. Shawn Marion finished with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Leandro Barbosa added 22 points to pace the Suns. Phoenix shot just under 54 percent from the field. Zach Randolph finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds for Portland.
Carlos Boozer had 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Mehmet Okur had 24 points and 11 rebounds as the Utah Jazz (21-8) beat the LA Clippers (11-16) 102-92. The Jazz also got 21 points and 7 assists from Deron Williams. The Clippers were led by Elton Brand with 21 points and 7 rebounds.
Luke Ridnour scored 27 points and handed out 9 assists and Chris Wilcox had 22 points and 10 rebounds as the Seattle Supersonics (12-17) beat the NO/Oklahoma City Hornets 102-94. The Sonics shot 54.5 percent from the floor. The Hornets lost Chris Paul to an ankle injury early in the game and never recovered. Jannero Pargo led all Hornets scorers with 23 points.
The Golden State Warriors (15-15) built a 20 point halftime lead and went on to blow out the Philadelphia 76ers (7-20) 116-97. Baron Davis led the Warriors with 21 points and 16 assists and Matt Barnes had 25 points and 8 rebounds. Rodney Carney had 25 points and 8 rebounds for the 76ers.
