Concept Searching, a global leader in semantic metadata generation, auto-classification, and taxonomy management software, and developer of the Smart Content Framework™, is pleased to announce that the Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) has selected the Smart Content Framework™, including conceptClassifier for SharePoint and conceptTaxonomyWorkflow, to support its SharePoint 2010 and FAST Search enterprise deployment.
Wintec, known as a technology leader in the tertiary education sector within New Zealand, is in the process of migrating content to its new SharePoint 2010 platform. Understanding the value of semantic metadata, Wintec undertook a review of available technologies and selected conceptClassifier for SharePoint. It based its decision on a number of criteria, including the maturity of the company and product, the tight integration with SharePoint and FAST, the ability to apply and automate policies based on metadata and the ability to add intelligence to the migration process, again driven by automatic semantic metadata generation.
Said Martin Garland, President of Concept Searching, “The Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) was an especially important win for Concept Searching. We are delighted to have been awarded this contract, over local competition available to Wintec on-site. The fact that Concept Searching was able to deliver a remote service offering, illustrate the strengths of the technology and gain the award to implement remotely, is a testament to the hard work we have put into the platform, and further justifies our position as the leading semantic metadata generation, auto-classification and taxonomy management solution in the SharePoint eco system.”
Going beyond a technology solution, Concept Searching’s Smart Content Framework™ for information governance is an infrastructure toolset based on conceptClassifier for SharePoint and provides the enterprise framework to mitigate risk, automate processes, manage information, protect privacy, and address compliance issues.
Underlying the Smart Content Framework™, conceptClassifier for SharePoint provides the ability to transparently tag content, classify it to organizational taxonomies, preserve and protect information through the automatic identification of records and privacy data, and as a migration tool. The result is one set of technologies, running natively in SharePoint, which improves search, provides an enterprise metadata repository, automates records management, ensures compliance, protects and secures data, and facilitates migration.
“The uniqueness of our Smart Content Framework™ coupled with our technology, allows clients to address specific challenges they are trying to solve. In the case of Wintec, it is implementing six of the initial Building Blocks of the framework for information governance, including Metadata management and Insight for search transparency, Governance, Policy and Privacy for the management of records, the lock down of sensitive information and secure collaboration at all levels, and Enterprise and Web 2.0 for social networking tools that encourage collaboration,” said Martin Garland, President of Concept Searching. “The Smart Content Framework™ is unique in the industry, addressing the wide range of challenges facing educational, federal and commercial organizations.”
