NHL Scores from Dec. 27; Johan Franzen, Ray Emery, Marian Hossa, and Rotislav Olesz lead their teams to wins.

Johan Franzen scored a goal and added an assist as the Detroit Red Wings (22-9-5) jumped to a 3-0 lead and went on to beat the Minnesota Wild (18-17-2) 3-1. Kirk Maltby scored in the first period for the Red Wings and Henrik Zetterberg gave them a 2-0 lead in the second period. Pavol Demitra scored the only goal for the Wild. Dominik Hasek stopped 31 shots for Detroit.
 
Ray Emery stopped all 18 shots he faced in goal and the Ottawa Senators (19-18-1) beat the NY Islanders (19-14-3) 2-0. Mike Fisher scored for Ottawa in the first period and Chris Kelley added a power play goal in the third period to seal the win. Daniel Alfredsson had two assists for the Senators.
 
The Atlanta Thrashers (23-10-6) got the go-ahead goal from Slava Kozlov in the third period and Bobby Holik added an empty netter in a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penhuins (15-15-6). The win was the fifth straight for the Thrashers. Kari Lehtonen stopped 35 shots for Atlanta and Marian Hossa had three assists.
 
Guillaume Latendresse assisted on both goals in the first period and the Montreal Canadiens (22-9-5) beat the Washington Capitols (16-14-7) 4-1. Cristobal Huet stopped 30 shots for Montreal and Sheldon Souray has a goal and an assist. Alexander Semin scored Washington’s only goal.
 
Rostislav Olesz scored a goal and had an assist while Martin Gelinas added two assists as the Florida Panthers (14-19-7) beat the Philadelphia Flyers (8-24-4) 3-1. Florida also had goals from Jozef Stumpel and Mike Van Ryn. Kyle Calder scored the lone goal for Philadelphia on a power play.
 
The Dallas Stars (24-14-0) scored a pair of goals in the third period to beat the Colorado Avalanche (18-16-2) 5-4. Sergei Zubov scored the tying goal for Dallas and Jeff Halpern scored the go-ahead goal a minute later. Halpern added two assists and Zubov had an assist. Wojtek Wolski had a goal and two assists for the Avalanche.
 
Sami Salo scored the game winner mid-way through overtime to lift the Vancouver Canucks (19-18-1) past the Calgary Flames (17-14-4) 6-5. Daniel Sedin scored a goal and an assist and Mattias Ohlund had a pair of assists for the Canucks. Kristian Huselius scored two goals and Daymond Langkow had a goal and an assist in the Calgary loss.
