Aaron Lang was on a traveling sales crew and sold door to door for over 50 years. He learned the benefits of working hard and making his life into something worthwhile, a mission that many of the members of theNational Field Selling Association strive for as well.
Aaron Lang’s Sixth Sense
Aaron Lang never admits to being very smart. In fact, this 73 year-old traveling sales crew veteran was bombarded with several different comments from friends and family that could have shattered his gift. His father told him he never had very much book smarts, but instead was gifted with a sixth sense. His father encouraged him to use it everyday and Aaron commits much of his success to that. Starting at age 17, Aaron spent his time walking from door to door in all different types of communities. Some would say he walked in dangerous territory by being the first black man to work all white neighborhoods. Because of his tenacity, Aaron was able to sell to some of the most famous people in America such as the Kennedy’s, Rockefellers, Malcolm Forbes and many others. Aaron discovered his talent, utilized his sixth sense, and now encourages others to do the same.
It’s Time to Get Up!
“My father always told me, ‘If you can look up, you can sure get up.’” Aaron Lang has gotten up and never looked back. He now devotes his time to others who may have had the same, or perhaps worse, circumstances. Sometimes known as the “Godfather of the Traveling Sales Business”, Aaron wears that title with pride. He delights to see young men and women take control of their life and push forward to a rewarding future. He mentors young adults and teaches them the importance of a good attitude, hard work ethic, and the fruit that comes from making a difference in, not only their own life, but the lives of others around them. Lending a helping hand always makes a difference and Aaron’s life has certainly been a testimony of how helping others up brings the whole community along.
Aaron Commends the Mission of Graceful Hands
Graceful Hands is an organization that provides this kind of opportunity for young adults around the country. They have helped kids from inner cities and given them hope in frightful times. Many of them come from poor and broken homes but are mentored to not focus on their past but their future. Aaron provides much of the inspiration for the men and women that Graceful hands has mentored. He sets the example for those that come to work, and work hard. Selling door to door is not something that comes naturally, but mainly depends on your tenacity, resilience, and commitment to doing what it takes to get the job done. Aaron hopes to write a book someday about his adventures on his traveling sales crews. “Many of the problems today are in people’s heads.” says Aaron. He wants to be an inspiration and encouraging voice to people for generations to come.
