Dirk Nowitzki hit the game winner with just over 1 second remaining as the Dallas Mavericks (22-7) beat the Phoenix Suns (19-8) 101-99. Nowitzki finished with 27 points and 10 rebounds while Jason Terry scored 35 points and handed out 7 assists for Dallas. Josh Howard scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds to help the Mavericks win their eighth straight game and improve to 13-3 at home this year. Amare Stoudemire had 25 points and 13 rebounds while Steve Nash added 24 points and 13 assists for the Suns.
Tony Parker scored 22 points and Tim Duncan had 20 points and 9 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs (22-8) beat the Utah Jazz (21-9) 106-83. The Spurs built a 15-point lead at halftime and held a 27-point advantage after the third quarter as they cruised to an easy win. The Jazz struggled to find any semblance of offense as Carlos Boozer could manage just 9 points on 2-10 shooting and Utah shot a miserable 19-32 from the foul line. The Spurs shot 50 percent from the field.
Allen Iverson had 44 points and 10 assists and Reggie Evans had 18 rebounds as the Denver Nuggets (16-10) beat the Seattle Supersonics (12-18) 112-98. The win marked George Karl’s 800th career win. Earl Boykins finished with 24 points for the Nuggets. Damien Wilkins led the Sonics with 26 points. The Nuggets out-rebounded the Sonics 46-33.
