The Denver Broncos have suspended temperamental wide receiver Brandon Marshall indefinitely following his actions during practice on Wednesday. According to head coach Josh McDaniels the decision to suspend Marshall was made after determining his behavior to be detrimental to the team.
Marshall will now miss the remainder of the Broncos preseason including their game against the Chicago Bears on Friday. Denver has said they will not reassess the suspension until Sept. 5.
Marshall had asked the Broncos for a trade after the club refused to rework his current contract, a deal which pays him $2.2 million for the 2009 season.
During Wednesday’s practice a less than enthusiastic Marshall could be seen batting down passes, loafing during warm-ups and punting the ball away rather than handing it to a ball-boy.
