Effective immediately, the SmartTOP convertible top module offered by Mods4cars is now available for the Mini convertible type R52. By installing the after market convertible top module, the owner of a Mini convertible can open and close the convertible top from a distance with the original key fob remote using the one-touch function. The annoyance of holding down the key fob is history and no change to the remote fob is necessary.
Additionally the use of the convertible top is possible while driving at slow speeds. It can be opened and closed at speeds of up to 40 km/h (~25 mph). One-touch operation delivers the highest amount of convenience when using the console button. Pressing the console button once, opens the sunroof. Pressing the same button twice, opens the convertible top completely and the windows move to a pre-programmed position. Pressing the console button three times in a row, opens the top completely and all windows move to the opposite of the pre-programmed position. The annoyance of holding down the switch through all the individual operations and the need to always open the sunroof first are things of the past. Now it is easy to decide with one simple keystroke whether to open the sunroof, the complete convertible top, and have the windows closed or open.
“We are happy to offer, even the owners of the older model of the Mini convertible type R52, our comfortable convertible top control module”, says PR manager Sven Tornow. “This module has convenient factory presets as well as individual adjustable functions”, he declares. By using the SmartTOP module, all four windows can be closed by the one-touch function. Turning off the ignition will not interrupt the convertible top process and the complete removal of the entire module is possible at any time.
The SmartTOP convertible top control module can be programmed via PC and software updates can be done via standard USB. Electronics specialist Mods4cars offers free and unlimited software updates. The SmartTOP module can be installed without cutting any wires, so that a removal of the entire kit is possible without leaving any traces.
SmartTOP modules for Mini convertible type R52 and type R57 are available immediately. The add-on module for Mini convertible type R52 is available for 209 Euros + tax.
SmartTOP roof modules are available for the following roadster and convertible cars: Alfa, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Ferrari, Ford, Infiniti, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Volkswagen and Volvo.
About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.
The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.
Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.
The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.
